A collision near Pittsfield this morning involved an electric car and a Tallyho. Reports indicate the president was injured in the crash and additional details are awaited.
Special to The Evening Star recounts President Theodore Roosevelt and party being struck by an electric car near Pittsfield on a trip to Lenox. Roosevelt suffered minor facial scratches while OCortelugu and Craig sustained more serious injuries and the tallyho driver Pratts died from a skull fracture.
Stone Mountain Baptist Association meeting at Indian Creek church near Clarkston adopted resolutions urging Tabernacle Baptist Atlanta to rescind its action allowing applicants baptized by alien immersion. Pastor Len G. Broughton warned of resignation if the church concedes. Deacon spokesman R N Fickett said Tabernacle will stand by the action.

The Wilmer hotel hosted a large Banquet of the Trades Council in Anniston praised as its most successful. Caterer W O Graham earned high praise for meticulous service with elaborate table arrangement and a rich menu served by sixteen waiters and two punch boys. Governor Candler commended the event as the best he had attended.
At a Labor Day event in Lincoln Nebraska, W. J. Bryan intervened to stop a drunken man from stabbing him. As Bryan separated two fighters, the assailant drew a knife and revolver and charged the rescuers before being disarmed by Bryan and John Bark. No arrest followed.
The Calhoun County Baptist association held its annual session in Jacksonville with moderator D. Cooper in the chair. Delegates from county sections are arriving for a three day meeting. Reverends Foster Hutto Barnard and others traveled over, with Franks and Wright planning to join tomorrow. The gathering promises active discussion and cooperation among church workers.

Joe McKinney, a Kilby Locomotive works employee, was assaulted and robbed near the Southern depot in Oxford about 8 PM. The two attackers took $38.40 and left him unconscious before he was carried to his boarding house for care. two suspects have been arrested and await investigation.
The monthly circulation statement shows national bank notes totaling 361,282,691 at August 30 1902 up 5,865,536 that year and 2,298,507 for the month. United States registered bonds on deposit to secure circulating notes total 522,941,580 and 124,667,150 to secure public deposits.
Fironpore Mass September 3 The itinerary lists the president leaving Oyster Bay September 5 for Washington. He will depart the Baltimore and Ohio at 7:30 AM for Wheeling West Virginia with a two hour stop on September 6. He then proceeds to Chattanooga arriving morning September 7.
A baseball clash between Capt James Leighton of Anniston and Shortstop Weaver of Montgomery ended in a near brawl on second base. The fight led to a forfeit as Montgomery pitcher O Brien advanced with a bat before being stopped. Umpire Mahoney forfeited 9 to 0 in favor of Anniston.
