Fall term of Calhoun circuit court opens with long docket

The fall term of the circuit court of Calhoun county begins Monday at noon and will run four weeks. Circuit Clerk Watson leads preparations amid a large docket including damage suits against the county board of commissioners and Sheriff Woodruff over the former office. Mr J T Wills, an employee at Southern Car and Foundry, suffered a severe arm injury today at about 11 am in the wood working department. His clothing was caught in a boring machine drawing his right arm into it, causing a badly lacerated wound requiring several stitches. He will be out of work for some time. Lane Man Robbed Train Killed Engineer Near Drummond

Eastbound Northern Pacific No 2 was held up near Drummond Montana last night. Engineer Dan O Neill longtime railroad man killed during the robbery. One assailant reportedly fled after the attack as bloodhounds searched the area and authorities moved to guard the line.

Robber shoots engineer and robs express train

A robber killed the engineer at his post and then plundered the mail and express cars. He blew open the express car safe, leaving the loot uncertain but presumed large. The bandit fled with a horse into timber east of Drummond as pursuit by Warden Gonley and bloodhounds closes in. The Northern Pacific offers a 5000 prize for the capture dead or alive.
