The Anniston Training School for young men on Quintard avenue between Eighth and Ninth streets burned last night at 8 o clock. Insurance covers the loss. fire companies saved the walls despite low water pressure. Origin unknown but incidentally blamed on an incendiary by some, while Prof White doubts that. Rebuilding to start with insurance adjustments. classes move to First Methodist church tomorrow at 8 50 a m.
Chicago reporters describe police raids on the Belt Company of Hammond Indiana and the Cooperative Investment company as uncovering a broader trust of similar schemes. Paul E Tarbell, a longtime financial writer and alleged promoter, is jailed on six charges after investigators say he built a network profiting from investors by promising 100 to 1000 percent returns. Investigators seized millions of promotional circulars and found numerous victim letters complaining of no returns during the three months prior.
Former Governor Johnston travels east to stump for Democratic congressional nominees in Massachusetts and Connecticut. He follows an invitation from National Campaign Committee chair Griggs who doubts Morgan’s view on party control of the house next year. First speech slated for Hartford.
H N Randall, newly named southern organizer for the American Federation of Labor, will visit Anniston tomorrow and speak to the laboring people at Trades Council hall. The union clubs plan extensive entertainment and urge all Trades Council members to attend.
The remains of Mr. C. H. Robinson, who died in Christoval Texas last Thursday, arrived in the city at 3 20 a m. A large procession met them at the union depot and conveyed the casket to Edgemont Cemetery for interment. Rev J H Blacklock conducted the grave service. Pallbearers included W L McCaa Dr Brown Dr Wikle Jack Goodwin J C Sprouil L Crook Randolph Smith H A Reynolds. Floral tributes featured an elk head from the Anniston lodge of Kik's, of which Robinson was a member. Robinson's wife, ill in Baltimore, did not attend.

Dr. R. M. Cunningham Democratic candidate for lieutenant governor will address the citizens in the circuit courtroom tomorrow morning at 11 o clock on political issues of the day. He is regarded as one of the state’s ablest orators and the public is invited to hear him with a special invitation to ladies.
Cole, an attorney from Battle Creek Michigan, prosecutes men charged with swindling residents of the town out of five thousand dollars. Police seek a dozen associates of the prisoners.

A boiler at the Bignham cotton gun exploded at 8 am injuring seven people, two seriously. Injured include Mrs. Janes Limbaugh and her son, R. W. Henderson, G. A. Mattison, G. Kershaw, Jake Curry, and Oscar McGregor. Two black engineers were seriously harmed, almost fatally. The blast wrecked the gun building and damaged surrounding structures, with debris spreading hundreds of feet. The cause is attributed to water gauging neglect by the engineers.
Rebecca Norton died at her Oxford home Saturday night at age sixty. She was widow of Rev. B. B. Norton former Methodist pastor here. Funeral held at 1 pm today with burial in Oxford cemetery.
