A special from Attalla reports OW E. Knox, superintendent of the Alabama Mineral division of the Louisville and Nashville railroad, has recently sold his coal mines near Attalla for 75000. Knox was not in the city and could not be reached for comment.
In circuit court yesterday afternoon Mrs M B By num filed suit against the Louisville and Nashville Railroad for 3000 damages to land. She alleges railroad bed water caused illness to residents on her property. Trial began and was not expected to finish before tomorrow. This is the last jury week of the fall term.
