Birmingham Nov 12 The voters of Alabama yesterday cast a heavier vote than in any prior national election giving ratification a clear majority of more than 27 000. Of sixty six counties the ratificationists won about thirty while the anti ratificationists trailed Pray for more complete figures as county results come in with expected statewide confirmation.

Leader of Convicts Captured by Farmers in Kansas

Topeka reports the capture of Frank Thompson, leader of the federal penitentiary mutiny, as fourteen of twenty six convicts have been retaken. Thompson was seized near Council Grove by Deputy Marshal Prescott and a farmer posse. Widespread panic and active search span a dozen counties with further possible captures expected. Thompson was wounded by buckshot but not fatally. Convicts captured near Council Grove move toward Cottonwood Falls to loot farms as the remaining inmates continue to evade authorities.

Young Lady Francis Rogers Dies After Long Illness

Miss Francis Rogers died Saturday night at her Cottage Row home after a long consumption illness. Funeral services were held at her house by Rev. A. A. Hutto and she was buried in Chulatinne beside her Baptist faith. Her aged father, mother, two sisters and a few friends accompanied the funeral party. Calhoun Leads In Favor Of Ratification Citywide Vote

Calhoun records an 800 vote majority in favor of ratification while Aniston tallies 1616 votes with 1431 for and 185 against. Ward results vary with Second Ward showing the largest citywide margin, and several towns like Oxford and Jacksonville reporting more against than for ratification.
