Death Comes Yesterd ay Belford Widow of West Corning
Mrs. J. W. Belford died at her West Corning home yesterday after a brief illness. She was about sixty two and highly esteemed. The funeral was held this afternoon from the residence with Rev. W. R. Ivey of Oxford preaching. Interment followed at Pine Grove Cemetery. Henry Clay stands first among flours advertised by Comer Maddox Co. Rabbits squirrels chickens and Wild Turkey also available at BuREter & Son.

Narrow Escape From Fire At Borders Home
A house on Blas Mountain edge occupied by Messrey and the Houstons burned early Saturday night. Mrs Sam Houston escaped from bed to Col KB Locke’s home as the ceiling fell. Mrs Wi Houston and her baby were saved, but the building and all household goods were destroyed. Borders’ loss about 1500 with 500 insurance. no one insured.

The Alabama Mineral division of the Louisville and Nashville railroad will open a fourteen mile extension of its Lamberton branch from Talladega into Coosa County.
