The body of George Gray was found hanging from a stopping tree east of Fayette after he had vanished from his home on September 4. Gray, whose mind had been unbalanced, disappeared and a search failed to locate him until the discovery last Monday.
Telegraphic news reports the completion of the standard gauge line from Laredo to Mexico City by the Louisville and Nashville railway. The first through train runs tomorrow, with a 1500 foot bridge over the mountains and Tala River a landmark of the project.

Washteaton Nov 7 Senator Morgan of Alabama derides President Roosevelt’s Panama policy calling it wild ambition and predicts war with Colombia. He argues recognition of Panama independence will provoke conflict and says the United States may send troops in a war lasting unknown duration.
H W Sexton explains to the Evening Star that he and Mr Rudisill are negotiating with creditors to extend payments, aiming to stabilize the Adair Machine Works Co which has operated briefly and recently paused due to working capital shortfalls. The First Methodist church hosted an organ recital last evening featuring Miss Belle McCoy of Birmingham whose playing impressed the crowd. Vocal performances by Miss Neale Miss Sarah Bes Duggan Miss Marie Cheatham and Prof. Thompson received praise as the event proved a grand success.
In a morning paper a miscaption labeled Mr H B Rudisil and the writer as principal officers of Adair Machine Works. The writer insists neither Rudisil nor he holds officer positions and calls the reference erroneous. The letter seeks a rectification of the report.
A bold burglary occurred at Bass & Heard in Anniston last night. The middle display window was broken and a quantity of clothing, about 40 to 50 dollars, was taken. The crime occurred early in the night and was discovered shortly before midnight. Police are investigating but have not yet identified suspects.
Charles P. Lane, president of the Alabama Commercial and Industrial Association, calls a November 16 Birmingham meeting to plan Alabama's exhibit for the St Louis World's Fair. He cites letters from leading businessmen and firms showing state pride and opposition to the legislature's inaction on funding.
Three counterfeiters tried at the United States court were sentenced by Judge Toulmin. Fines totaled 1500 and 54 months hard labor. Dee Ponder got two years in the penitentiary with a 500 fine. Jim Shamblee received 500 and 15 months. Jim Williams was fined 500 and 15 months. Sentences send them to the federal prison in Atlanta.
