The Anniston Gold Mining company filed a deed in the probate office for acres of land, a $160,000 exchange, and plans for active operations to develop gold wealth. Lawyer Shackelford prepared an abstract tracing deeds back over fifty years.
Talladega visitors praised Anniston for the carnival week. The flower parade featured Talladega and Gadsden floats, the ball crowned W. H. McKleroy as king and Miss Mary Miles Jordan as queen, with queens from Gadsden Oxford and Talladega attending. Smoot Bell & Read promotes boys suits at bargain prices on East Tenth Street.

At Talladega county jail the execution of Vincent Keith, a Black man, took place at 11 07 a.m. The rope broke his neck after the drop and he died eleven minutes later. Keith had murdered John Houston, another Black man, in Childersburg for a few dollars. Sheriff Edwards carried out the sentence. Sheriff Minus W. Woodruff witnessed and returned with a rope fragment.

The Atlanta Journal reports a major damage suit by E. E. G. Roberts against multiple railroads including Southern, Georgia, Western and Atlantic, Central of Georgia, and Atlanta and West Point. He alleges assault by Gatekeeper Kirkpatrick at a depot, causing injury and four teeth to loosen, with the board of control liable as the agent of the railroads.
