In Belairs Maryland on March 25 Miss Annie Mellivain with a pistol led about 200 men to the jail. They dragged Lewis Harris a Black man who assaulted Miss Mellivain from his cell and hanged him to a tree riddling his body with bullets. The sheriff and others were wounded during the assault.
