Carnegie arrival stirs Southampton charity drive

Southampton reports the St Louis docked at 2 PM as Mr and Mrs Andrew Carnegie landed after March 15 voyage. Delegations from Woolston Reading and other towns pressed for libraries and aid while Hartley college sent sixty representatives. The manager said envelopes from many groups show a wide range of applicants including university presidents and mendicants. The ship left at six after the crowd followed to bid farewell.
