Daffron Charged With Forgery in Jefferson County Case

Charles Daffron faced two forgery charges in a justice court trial for passing checks drawn on the Bank of Oxford and signed by W M Thweatt of McFall. One check was cashed by FE Lewensohnu in Birmingham and the other by Konkle of Cordova Walker County. The panel showed a missing link as Lewensohnu did not attend, but the court ruled the offense was in Jefferson County and discharged Daffron. He was then rearrested on another forgery charge returnable before the Walker County probate judge. Konkle identified Daffron as the man who passed the check. Daffron, previously an assistant at McFall school, appeared intelligent.
