Local report states Joe Burton was killed in Blossburg yesterday in a downtown incident. Police investigated the scene and identified Burton as the deceased. Further details were unavailable at press time.
Joe Burton an 18 year old charged with manslaughter in Edwardsville and son of Judge T J Burton died in a mangling accident at Blossburg while visiting relatives. His trial had been postponed and his prior case had seen a murder charge reduced to manslaughter with a new trial ordered. His remains were transported through Anniston.
Morning travelers to Edwardsville attended a funeral there today as Mrs. B A Howle and her children joined the service. Young Burton, noted as her brother, was among the deceased’s kin referenced in the report.
Discovery of an escape plan at the city chain gang leads Mayor Henderson to block three long time convicts. A file enabled three prisoners to loosen their chains and plan a dash for liberty. They are held at the station house and to be tried in police court tomorrow on escape attempts. The source does not reveal how the file was obtained.

He claims Newport News Williamsburg Hampton Phoebus and related areas could be swept to sea, supported by colleagues though scientists are still reviewing evidence.
