The Senate passed the Aniston Public Building bill after House approval. The measure funds a $50,000 government building at Anniston and directs site selection and immediate work once the president signs.
The Anniston public building bill passed the Senate last night after urging from Senator Morgan and telegrams from Annistonians. With House passage and the governor’s signature pending, site selection and construction are expected to proceed this summer.
Mrs. John Sherman died at midnight in Mansfield at age 72. She was born Margaret Cecella Stewart, daughter of the late Judge Stewart, and married December 31, 1845. No children. She will be buried in Mansfield.

The Sunday school of the First Presbyterian church plans a picnic at Oxford Lake on Thursday June 7. Other pickup points include Noble and Tenth and Wilmer and Tenth streets.

An undated Pretoria message via Lourenco Marques claims Pretoria is invested and to surrender upon formal demand. Kruger orders telegraph eastward and news from Pretoria via Lourenco Marques ceases.
In Decatur Alabama on June 5 Mrs Ennis wife of W H Ennis Southern railroad agent at Hillsboro fell from back steps at her home and was found to have a broken neck. She died ten minutes after the fall.
