A field party for the Dawes commission found a settlement of about 50 Texas Creeks along the North Canadian near Burney. They descend from Alabama Creeks, migrated from Livingston County Texas, and were admitted as Creek citizens in 1903. Many wandered west to New Mexico and Arizona, while others remain nomadic in pine lands.

John Schidlofski, a Lithuanian, is to be executed in Charlestown prison via the electric chair, the same apparatus used for Charles L. Tucker a month earlier. He murdered his wife at Belmont on July 12 last year, fled west, and was captured in Colorado six months later. his defense at trial contended insanity.
