Rachel 16 Freeman 12 Guy 10 Marquis 8 Edith 5 Brooks 2 and Sarah 38 perished. Elsie 14 survived at a neighbor’s. Gobba injured escaping through a window after attempting to wake them.
At Judge Crook's hearing on warrants for Don and Cleve Holcombe and Joe Contard Contard was convicted of assault on Chief Pink Knighton and fined 25 with costs 250 total 2750. Holcombes assault with intent to murder was not pressed and Cleve Holcombe was held to answer next Friday. Contard, a Frenchman, required an interpreter Edwin Noel. Don Holcombe appeared in Oxford mayor's court posting bond for reappearance.
