Witemsrap on Curaco Island notes the Venezuelan government claims a new Colombian invasion near Colon commanded by the Colombian minister of war. In Washington officials say no clear official report after an earlier dispatch and expect the battleship Wisconsin to depart soon as a precaution.
Governor Jelks said the burning at the stake of Wesley, a Black man near Enterprise, would be promptly investigated after a conference with State solicitor R H Parks. Wesley was accused of assaulting Mrs J G Davis, a respected white woman, and Governor Parks will guide the justice process.
Birmingham dispatch says Shook & Fletcher iron brokers booked an export order for a large jet of pig iron to European points, the first in six months for export and the first in ten months for Southern iron masters. The notice also mentions moving services offered by R. O. Watson and furniture handling by phone.
Mrs J J McPherson died at 5 30 this morning at her home on Noble and Twenty fifth streets after several weeks illness. Funeral services will be at 9 o clock from the residence and burial will follow in Edgemont cemetery. She leaves a husband and one young son. The deceased had many friends who regret her passing.
