HEW faces Medicaid reimbursements cut unless Congress acts
Indiana and 10 other states may lose federal funds for Medicaid without a quick moratorium. HEW Secretary Joseph Califano warned Congress that a delay could trigger a 80 percent payout, with Indiana facing a 1.2 million dollar reduction, unless a bill blocks the cut and allows later credit adjustments.
