Paraplegic Access Measure on City Plan Agenda
The Anderson City Plan Commission will not hear the paraplegic access ordinance tonight and may table it for a month. Pearson and Freeman said Fort Wayne’s similar law is being studied for compliance with state and federal codes as city officials weigh enforceability and timing. A rezoning petition by Mary Jo Hock and Lowell Pitser for 2514 Nichol Ave and 1237 Raidle Ave was pulled at their request after being tabled twice.

Elwood youth drives tractor eight miles before crash
An Elwood 13 year old commandeered a $2000 farm tractor and led a downtown chase of about eight miles Wednesday afternoon. He wrecked after losing control on a curve, damaging the tractor and a pickup. Police say he fled on foot and faces juvenile delinquency charges for reckless driving and leaving the scene.
