Butte City Penalties Bill Disallowed by County

County commissioners rejected Butte citys claim for 5690.53 of delinquent tax penalties from 1889 to 1902 citing state opinions that penalties go to the county general fund. The action followed review of the cities abstract showing 10268.29 penalties, and included reasons including disputed interpretation of police penalties. The board then inspected an East Butte track right of way request affecting Cherry and Garfield streets as possible action today. Also a social club notice urged members to meet at the Hirtour building for a trip to Columbia Gardens on Thursday evening.
