The coroner's jury ruled Tracy's self destruction was not blamable and that all efforts to capture the outlaw were praise worthy and fully in accordance with Washington state law.
The coroner’s jury in Lincoln County Washington declares Harry Tracy, escaped Oregon convict, died by his own pistol after being wounded by unknown pursuers near the Low Hedy ranch. The inquest notes Tracy fled from officers, with praise for all efforts to capture him. Relics and reports of his daring circulate, including a Wilbur livery stable owner identifying him with two horses and rifle.
Spokane reports the body of Tracy will be shipped to Salem Oregon for burial at the penitentiary. Attorney Maurice Smith of Creston, part of the posse in the final battle, is expected to accompany the body representing Creston men who claim the reward.
