Atlanta Letter on banquet, streets, and power boom
The piece reviews the chamber of commerce banquet with Governors Gordon and Campbell and other speakers, Atlanta’s rise as an electrical center, competing street railways, and tensions with electric firms. It notes water woes, planned March bond issues of 250000 for a city system, and a brisk business outlook as Southern Georgia attracts investment. The narrator muses on weather, champagne, and memories of past celebrations.
