Sunday School Convention in Weston Georgia
Weston Circuit of the Methodist Episcopal Church South holds a Sunday school convention in Weston Georgia on August 17 with schools from Weston Preston Cheribbee Dupree’s Pierce Chapel organized songs recitations and a large program led by organist Misa Hattie Webb. Speakers include Hugh Patterson and Hudson Stokes. The event aims to entertain and unite Sunday schools and to discuss needs and methods for spreading scripture among children.

PLAINS OF DURA Aug. If you will allow men short space I will try to write to you from the Plains. We have not got much news now but I will try to get up some. Cropa are fine throughout this part of the country. Cotton is opening very fast now and our farmers are at work having it picked out. All of them are about done pulling fodder now. Business is very good now but we hope it will be some better after awhile. Our school started last Monday was a week and is flourishing. If you want your sons and daughters to have an education send them to our high school under the management of Capt. J. M. Patterson one of the best teachers In the South. The Gospel meeting is coming to our little town Saturday. Some of the boys are expecting a big time. Frank Lowery of Dawson came up last week to visit our friend John Shields. He returned home yesterday. Come again Frank Misses Carrie and Jimmie Shropshire went over to spend a few days in Lumpkin this week FARMER Boy.
