Opera House Renovation Under Way In Americus
New York scenic designer Frank Cox began interior remodeling of Glovers Opera House in Americus. Plans include a lobby, enlarged stage up to fourteen feet higher, a 40 by 40 stage, horseshoe gallery seating, new scenery and drop curtain, and added dressing rooms. Cox estimates five thousand dollars will be spent to create a first class Georgia venue. Also announced: Butler & Berry to open a crockery and home goods shop on Lee and Lamar, with emphasis on quality stock and rapid remodeling of the corner building. Carl Schneider buys Bremsteller tailoring business on Lamar Street, retaining Bremsteller as cutter and manager. Mrs Schneider stocks new goods from the factor.
