Dawson Doings reports tent meeting and church plans
In Dawson Georgia on July 30 the gospel tent was moved from its original site to Plains of Dura and the three week revival continued at the Methodist church. Thirty five joined the church and were baptized by Rev. E. M. Whiting. A protracted meeting with Baptists planned to begin next Sunday with Methodist and Presbyterian co operation hoped for. Rural weather notes include much rain harming cotton on sandy lands and caterpillar fires on farms. Crops like corn cane and potatoes are good while fodder looks poor. Consolidation of mercantile stock by E. B. Bridges and L. C. Durham announced. Visitors Miss Dink Ogletree Georgetown and Miss Annie Ogletree Eufaula are guest of Mrs. Mary C. Baldwin. Rev. E. M. Whiting at Plains of Dura assisting in tent meeting.
