Americus merchants announce the last week of fall Indian summer brings new dry goods clothing and shoes. Stores report large shipments from railroads and heavy stock to attract regional shoppers within fifty miles. Up-to-date displays and low prices aim to draw a heavy trade moving through the city.

German submarine bombarded Scarborough killing three and wounding five with slight property damage from thirty shells. The air raid on London caused nine deaths and forty nine injuries from twenty bomb drops by a 20-strong raiding party. one aircraft was shot down near Sherness as total casualties since Sunday reached 117 killed and 140 injured.

Americus Barbecue club will hold its semi monthly feast tomorrow with aim of full attendance of the thirty members and their wives. This may be one of the last cups for the season according to organizers.

The Schneider Marble Company hosts a life size marble portrait statue of Stephen H. Bush, created from photos and models. The piece, shipped from Italy via an American steamer, shows him leaning against a tree on his Milford area plantation. The exhibit runs for several days at the Schneider plant.

The four identified prisoners are James Delaney, Ray Roop, Charleo J Kilne, and Fred Jacobs, the first American tank crew prisoners since the war began.
