Nov. 2 Plains region notes include a Charles F. Crisp library fund concert recap and many visits. Miss Lucy Williams leaves for Albany and Americus, Rev. C. A. Phillips preaches in De Soto, Miss Kate Hiller and Miss Ethel Wise are home from Wesleyan College, and numerous residents travel to Macon Americus and Vidalia for fairs relatives and social visits.

A 20th wedding anniversary party for Mr and Mrs Frank Adam Wilson was held Saturday night in Leslie with elegant parlor decorations, evergreen letters, and a porch lit by Japanese lanterns. Guests included out of town visitors and local residents. a dining room salad course and coffee were served by several hosts and hostesses.
The unfinished fall term of Webster Superior Court met in Preston with Judge Littlejohn presiding due to a heavy docket. Local residents Mr. and Mrs. W B Jenkins and Col and Mrs Perry of Saginaw Michigan are visiting, with Perry couple previously returning to stay the winter. Mrs. Perry and others enjoyed a pleasant Columbus sojourn and the community welcomed guests and friends at local homes and hotel gatherings.
New Era notes visits and family gatherings including Mr J Bray of Huntington visiting big daughters Mes Georgia and Louella Parker. Mr and Mrs M C Veal with children visited the Morris home Sunday afternoon. Boney Cary visited R P Parker Sunday. Edgar Mercer returned home Saturday after a pleasant week with his brother near Plains.

Miss India Griffin of Springdale visited Miss Susie May Yar for a few days. Mittie Collins and Ella Israel attend the State Fair in Macon. J T Israel went to Americus on business. B B McCrea C C Jones R P Ismel and G W Wiggins Jr plan to see the Terrell County Fair Friday. Mrs G W Israel and J A Mills stayed with Mrs Tedder Friday. Dr H Smith and son Prim of Smithville spent Sunday with the Turners. Mrs Tude Knight left for Macon to visit relatives and attend the fair. Willie Godby visited Terrell Sunday. Jones and R P Israel went to Bottsford Sunday. Allen Davis attends the State Fair this week.

An upcoming corn contest at the Sumter County Court House on Saturday November 6 invites farmers to exhibit ten ears of corn for seed with $25 top prize and $15 and $10 for second and third. Free admission, open to public. prizes judged on corn quality with additional talks on fertilizers and wheat growing.
Paris reports the Briand cabinet unexpectedly resigns today after bitter attacks in the Chamber of Deputies over the government’s suppression of a recent railroad strike. Briand’s move to mobilize reserve troops to break the strike triggered the crisis and resignation.
Cut Off Georgia reports W J Pennington spent time in Americas for court. County fair at Oglethorpe drew many locals. A F Pennington and sisters Beulah and Mardel visited relatives in the 28th District. Humphries Jones from Oglethorpe made a business trip. D H Stubbs and Mathia Bodendorugh were recent visitors. George M Wicker and sister Lauri attended Joiner's entertainment in honor of Nora Peiooch. W C Barton is quite ill but improving. J Morris spending time with relatives.
