Mrs EB W Strange marked her twentieth anniversary with a large gathering Saturday. The elegant home hosted relatives and friends including Mesdames Cheney and Murray, with Miss Mott and others assisting as guests enjoyed coffee and light refreshments.

Attendees include J A McDonald W S Moore E R Stewart J R Chambliss and J C Logan with mention of Rail plans to the Confederate Reunion Friendship Association and State Fair. Rural Hill reports that Tom Stubbs visited his brother in Americus over the weekend. Greed Cato traveled to the wire station on Friday and returned Monday. Murray Dillard of Midway visited his parents G W and Mrs. Dillard on Tuesday. Wesley McGill and his wife spent Wednesday with B P Dillard. Mrs Green Cato stayed several days at Bent West's last week.
The Weekly Times-Recorder will discontinue mailing to subscribers who are more than twelve months in arrears in compliance with U S postal regulations. A circular informs the subscriber their subscription has expired, followed by a final notice that service will stop unless remittance is made. The policy will be rigidly enforced.

Former Georgia governor Allen D Candler died at 4 a m at his Atlanta home on Edgewood Avenue after months of illness from Brights disease He leaves a wife and nine children The funeral will be at First Baptist Church Gaineville Thursday at 3 p m with a special train carrying the remains leaving Atlanta at noon He was born in Georgia in 1834 and served as Confederate soldier legislator congressman secretary of state and two term governor He later entered timber trade and politics until retirement
In Friendship Georgia on October 26 Rev. Coleman Daniel preached an interesting sermon at the Baptist church to a large crowd. A pleasant entertainment was hosted Monday night by Miss Annie Hagerton in honor of Miss Susie Bell Payne. Mrs. S. W. Frasier and Miss Myrtie Mashburn visited Americus for shopping. Miss Susie Bell Payne stays with Miss Carrie Haggerson this week. Mr. and Mrs. John Mashburn returned from Columbus after a reunion. Cary Daniel of Friendship took a business trip to Americus yesterday.

Mr and Mrs Theo Everette returned to Sanford Alabama Tuesday. Mr T J Hall Sr and son T J Jr are ill but improving. Jesse Turner and Theo Everett made a business trip to Dawson Monday.
