Million Baptisms Highlight Southern Baptists Record
A Southern Baptist survey reports 1,087,550 baptisms in five years, the most in any evangelical group. Home Mission Board credits much of this with mission work in the South, Panama and Cuba and a drive to enlist every member in a One Every Member Canvass. The note ends with the Atlantic deepest hole at 27,965 feet near Porto Rico.
