Parks Delivers Oration at Cordele Graduation

Mrs Humber Held Without Bail in Alabama Murder Case
Mrs Leila C Humber, charged with murdering her Columbus warehouseman husband Lucius I Humber on May 18, was bound over to Russell County Circuit Court without bail after a preliminary hearing in Seale Alabama. Miss Marie Williams graduated from Smithville high school on Monday evening and after the exercises, she and C B Bond were married at Rev A B Wellens home in Plains in the presence of friends. Williams is a daughter of Jno D Williams of the 17th district, Bond a sergeant from Sumter county. They honeymooned in Florida and plan to settle on their Plains Americus road home.
Two Given Life Terms in a Day
Judge Littlejohn handed two life terms in one day for murder. Will Dowdell and Clyde Kemp were convicted in Hunting ton area after crimes last year involving a knife and a gun. Additional guilty pleas brought other sentences and fines for burglary assault and attempted robbery.
