Redpath Chautauqua sues Dawson backers over tickets
Through Albany lawyers Lippitt and Burt the Redpath Chautauqua Co. of Chicago sues 96 Dawson citizens for 1250 dollars alleging they entered a five day engagement contract and agreed to buy season tickets but withdrew before payment. Several guarantors notified management weeks before the event that they would not be responsible. The suit seeks recovery for unbought tickets and related losses.

Glove lapse cited in fatal lineman accident
A 24 year old Americus Lighting Company lineman, Robert Lee Holley, died after removing leather gloves while working on a 2300 volt live line in Unadilla. Witness Hines Hannon described Holley being struck while holding a steel brace, a quick release saved others but could not help Holley. Holley, from Unadilla, had recently joined the company and was learning the trade. The tragedy occurred as Holley’s body was being prepared for burial and shipped to Unadilla by train.

In Dawson on May 4 farmers growl over cotton prices and sales. W Hollin sold 400 bales from Stewart and Grigg estates to J D Tweedy of Georgia Cotton Company, who also bought 60 bales for Mrs Suai Sorcer. D A Smith sold 250 bales to Coffin Bros. Some sales occurred in small lots. The cotton brought 9 to 10 cents and added about 35 000 dollars to circulation.
Woman Remarries Forehand After Three Ceremonies
Van B Forehand married her third time in Moultrie Georgia this week, despite two prior marriages to the same man. She had not divorced Cranford before the first marriage, Cranford briefly left then returned, and Forehand and she later married again after a divorce suit.
