The engineer warned to wait but the motorman moved forward, freeing a boiler valve and releasing steam. Windows shattered and passengers were scalded, with others crushed in the ensuing panic.
Pennsylvania capitalists plan to build a Birmingham electric street car factory with a $50,000 building cost. The Commercial club provides site maps for three properties. When operational, about 500 skilled mechanics will be employed to manufacture electric cars, automobiles, business wagons, and high grade electric cars.
