Lord Kitchener reports from Pretoria of a Boer assault on a convoy of wagons near Vondonop southwest of Klerksdorp. The fight lasted about three hours, British losses rose to 632 with 21 men and a clerk taken prisoner. The Boers captured two guns and 200 mounted infantry tried to reinforce but were held. Commanders Delarey Lemmer Wolmerana Potgieter led a force estimated at 1200 to 1500.
