How to lodge a match play rule dispute and penalties

In match play disputes the protesting player must file a claim before teeing off the next hole or before leaving the last green on the final hole. Claims are usually submitted to the tournament committee immediately after the round. If casual water affects a ball on the putting green, the ball may be played as lies or dropped behind the water, within two club lengths, or in a position with a clear line of putt with no interference, without penalty. If a ball is moved by an electric mower, the player may drop at the spot where it was moved from without penalty, usually by agreement on the drop point.
