Opening new cases of white and colored blankets offered very cheap. Best bargain 100 pairs White amb's Wool extra size 114 blankets with tinted borders at 4.50 per pair, claimed unmatched elsewhere.
Washington December 16 memorials were presented to the Senate opposing the opening of the Chicago world’s fair and urging government loan of 5 million dollars. Other memorials urged women’s suffrage life-saving service expansion and a Niagara ship canal. House session was brief as Speaker Crisp announced the Rules Committee makeup and Bartin was sworn in after an absence. Tennessee’s L C Houk died, prompting adjournment. Crisp unveiled a gavel sent by his Americus constituents, praised by many congressmen.
Furlow lawn is proposed as the site for a bicycle tournament after a committee judged nearby Rees park unsuitable.
