Thirty-one Cartersville farmers daily convert 3000 pounds of milk into about 75 pounds of cheese at a plant costing 900 dollars. Operated by families under the Georgia State College of Agriculture, the venture yields roughly 725 dollars yearly per farmer. Funeral for Pope Callaway Held in La Grange
Funeral services for Pope F. Callaway were conducted at his brother Fuller E. Callaway’s home in La Grange. He died after a brief illness. Interment followed at Hillview cemetery. He was the son of the late Rev. Abner R. Callaway and brother of the late Dr. Enoch Callaway, a former U S Supreme Court justice. He is survived by four brothers.
Chinese Soldiers Attack Americans Aboard Alive Dollar
Rioters, led by Chinese soldiers, boarded the Alive Dollar steamer at Schange and demanded free passage. The captain and three women were seriously injured, the latter two being relatives of local Dollar Line agents. U S bluejackets boarded the gunboat and quelled the disturbance, arresting fifteen rioters after shots were fired.
