Colonel Jesse E Peyton known as the father of centennials dies at his home in Happeshteip New Jersey. Born 1815 in Maysville Kentucky he moved to Philadelphia about 1842 to enter the wholesale dry goods business. He helped fund Henry Clay's debts and pushed for Union support during the Civil War.
