Thieves burgled Allen and Sheffield’s store in the night taking a large assortment of top goods. Clerks found a door ajar, clothing and footwear scattered, cash drawer forced with only $3.50 missing. Police traced possible suspects seen with bundles about 1:30 am. Weather prophecy by John Walters adds local color to the report.
Dr. A B Robertson a Cedar Creek physician in Wilcox County lies unconscious and near death after taking an overdose of nux vomica and Fowler's solution of arsenic at the House. The motive remains unclear though personal crisis is suspected.
The grand chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Georgia elected officers for the year. W. A. Wolshin of Macon became recorder and treasurer, succeeding his father. The Royal Arch Masons awarded Grand High Priest Wessolowsky a jewel and paid tribute to the late A. M. Wolshin.
After sixteen hours the jury found H. S. Perry guilty of murdering Bealy Lanier. Judge Candler sentenced Perry to hang on May 21. The condemned man appeared unmoved as the sentence was pronounced.

The Forsyth street site near Perry and Brown’s store is set for a handsome brick building to rise within a few days. The owners intend a two or three story structure possibly housing a dry goods store, with completion aimed for August.
A morning sale on Elmayenne of real estate and machinery is expected to draw a large crowd and spirited bidding. The auction promises first class property likely to fetch good prices with a bargain for some bidder. Hopkins poised for Greece appointment tied to Senate action next week.

Tom Howard, confined in the city observation ward, suffers delusions of a feud between St Patrick and St Mary. He claims to have refereed a boxing match and says St Mary persecutes him, disrupting meals and sleep as he moves around the ward seeking relief.
