River steamer City of Pittsburg disaster claims many lives

Cairo April 21 reports show about 150 aboard the City of Pittsburg when fire broke out at Ogden's Landing. Rough tally indicates roughly half lost with many survivors injured or missing. The register burned, making exact casualty lists impossible. partial names include Captain Wesley Does, Miss Marie Tessim, and several Moore families from Indiana and Kentucky.

Aged Man Charged With Wife Murder In Cleveland

Martin Lynch, 60, is held on murder charges after his wife Saral Lynch, 75, was found dead at 60 Toda Street Cleveland. A revolver and shell fragments found in the home suggest multiple shots. neighbors heard no quarrel. Lynch says he found her dead on arriving home from work.
