Georgia to Unveil Her Shaft on May 4
The official dedication program for the Georgia monument at Chickamauga park on May 4 was announced. It includes music, a prayer by Rev. W. W. Boggs, a presentation and acceptance of the monument by Governor Candler, an oration by James O. Black, and a benediction. The Georgia society of Chattanooga may participate in the program. May 3 observances for a Kentucky monument are also outlined with a ceremony to unveil by Miss Christine Bradley and transfer to the secretary of war.

Harrisburg April 2 session of the Pennsylvania General Assembly closed after a little over three and a half months with none chosen to succeed M G Quay. Governor Stone may call an extra session to elect a senator and address a $3 million treasury deficit. The mercantile tax bill passed both houses while beer and manufacturing tax bills failed. Several private charity appropriations were left for the governor.
