Burglar shot pal during failed hold up in New York
In a tenement hallway burglars attempted a robbery when a policeman interrupted the scene. One thief shot Charley Thom, 24, in the neck. Thom aided by his partner fled as the other burglar escaped. Thom claimed he fought a night watchman or iceman, not recognizing the officer.
