At Alexandria Louisiana two towns along the Red River suffer heavy losses as a tornado devastates the area. Seventeen dead include thirteen white and four black victims and about sixty injured. In Wendell North Carolina a wind storm injures about twenty five, destroys fifty buildings and damages crops.

Beloved Americus Woman Mary Perry Dies at 81
Mrs. Mary Frances Perry died at 6 10 this morning at 309 Jackson Street after a two week illness. Funeral at 3 30 Friday at her daughter Mrs A D Gatewoods home 211 South Lee Street with Rev John M Cutler and Rev James B Lawrence officiating. Interment in Oak Grove. Survived by husband R J Perry sister Mrs R E Allison brother John M Glover and daughters Mrs A D Gatewood and Mrs Charles Earnest. She lived in Americus most of her life and was a member of First Methodist Church.
