Bighan Appeal Denied by Carolina Supreme Court
The South Carolina Supreme Court upheld Edmund D. Bigham's conviction for the murder of his mother sister and two nieces and adopted children. The death sentence was set for April 27 after a two year appeal process. His only remaining recourse is a governor’s clemency appeal. Smiley Bigham was named by the defendant as the killer.
