Queen Marys quiet log hut near Balmoral shines
In Deeside Scotland a small thatched log cabin near Birsemoor Loch serves Queen Mary. She visits for tea with intimate friends when at Balmoral and travels quietly to Aboyne by motor to stroll the lanes. Built by Lady Cowdray three years ago from fir logs, the hut hosts daily fires when the queen is in residence and signals her presence by smoke from its chimney. Las Amigas Queridas Club entertained at the Simpson home with bridge prizes and guests including Mrs. Teas and Mrs. Lawson.
