Heavy Building Permits Record For Last Week

Building permits for the past week totaled SHT,792 with a Fort Worth Supply Co warehouse costing 16 193 and several dwelling projects. Names include Jake Grentz 808 North Fillmore and M Hancock 1411 A Fillmore among others. proceeds show wide activity in Amarillo. The Mothers Council met at 5 30 PM in the high school library. Dr A H Lindsay spoke on healthier school children. Weddings and club notices fill the remainder of the page with local social events and society items.

Excavation Complete on Fort Worth Supply Company's Warehouse

Excavation work on the Fort Worth Supply company's warehouse at Second and North Fillmore streets is finished and basement work is underway. W. P. Cooper is the contractor, with K F Rittenberry as local architect. The building will measure 60 by 80 feet, one story with part basement, and cost about $17,000 when completed.

Plainview to Build $125000 High School addition

Kerr and Walsh architects draft plans for a new Plainview high school building costing 125000 dollars. A bond election is expected to pass due to crowded conditions. The unit plan project, once completed, will total 275000 dollars and feature reinforced concrete fireproof construction.

A contract for a brick Masonic building at Panhandle will be awarded October 15. bids are received. Local architects Kerr and Waleh drew plans for a two story 20 by 149 foot brick structure with a basement. first floor to house business offices. total cost about 85000 dollars.

Brick Work Under Way on C. I. King Building

Brick work is under way on the C. I. King building at Fourth and Taylor streets. Contractor J. D. Singleton aims to finish by year end. The $60,000 structure will be a combined business and hotel with the first floor housing C. I. King Dry Goods and four shops while the second floor offers thirty two rooms. Local architect K. F. Rittenberry drew the plans.
