Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary unit holds a regular session tomorrow at 8 PM in the VFW Hall. Open Forum Club meets tonight at 7 45 in the home of Miss Jessie Castleman 1304 Filmore.
Miss Jeanne Clark bride-elect of Brian Mitchell was honored at a miscellaneous shower hosted by Louise Little and Mary Lou Anderson at the Little residence 1118 Beverly. Gifts filled a blue and yellow basket. refreshments matched the color scheme and guests included Lula Marie Super Virginia Alexander Martha Van Shaw Mickey Merchant Margaret Bird Charlotte Mitchell and Mrs J D Clark.

Members of the San Jacinto Methodist Church Friendship Class held their annual birthday dinner at the church. Mrs. A. D. Nance led as mistress of ceremonies, with Mrs. Roy Barnard giving the invocation and Mrs. Joe Coffee reviewing The Self You Have to Live With by Winifred Rhodes as the program highlight.
Mr and Mrs B A Collins were honored at a Surprise silver anniversary party at their 1204 West Thirteenth home on Saturday. Guests included out of town sister-in-law Mrs B F Lewis and three Collins sons Harland Bryan Jr and Dale.

The YWCA business girls committee will hold its regular monthly supper Thursday at 6 30 with Mrs Faye Gordon in charge. Plans include a new canteen for youths aged 17 to 25 and all members are urged to attend.
The Friday Needle Club will meet on October 4 at 2 45 in the home of Mrs. C S Bragg 2700 Taylor with members expected to attend.
An AAUW gathering organized a conversational Spanish group last evening at Mrs. J. Odus Turner’s home in Jackson. Miss Viola Ballard of Amario High School faculty will teach the course, meeting on the first and third Wednesdays monthly. Mrs. Clifford Bell was named chairwoman with Mrs. L. C. Whitney as co chair.
Community groups list events for tonight across Amarillo including JYG supper at YMCA 6:30, Eight Honor Bridge Club, Rebekah Lodge at IOOF Hall 7:30, and multiple YWCA AAUW and church group activities. Highlights include American Legion Auxiliary at Legion Hall 8, First Baptist and St. Andrew's gatherings, and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority events at YWCA and Khiva Temple.
Minneapolis expert H L Hoffmann will demonstrate his Rupture Shields in Amarillo Texas at the Hotel Amarillo on Wednesday October 2 from 9 AM to 3 PM with prior evening appointments. He claims ten years of supplying shields and thousands treated in the United States and invites those with large ruptures or post operative cases.
