Amarillo Band Heads to Tulsa National Contest
Amarillo high school band of 72 members departs tonight for Tulsa to join about 40 other groups in the national band contest. They perform Friday at 9:30 a.m. in class A for schools with 750-plus enrollment. Canadian is in class C and Perryton in class B. Oscar Wise notes improved instrumentation since a Denver contest two years ago. Mrs. Wise and Miss Gertrude Elliker accompany the group.

Probe Woman's Death Shocks Fort Worth
Mrs. Delta Norris, 45, was found dying on a Fort Worth street and died at a hospital. Her husband said he was asleep when she supposedly slipped from bed and that he was searching for her after being told of her death.

Liquor raid nets large liquor stock and arrests in Dallas
Police called in a locksmith during a downtown Dallas liquor raid. Officers seized 55 pints and a quart of whiskey 31 pints of gin 10 half gallon jars of whiskey 12 half gallon jars of gin and a quart of wine. The bootlegging operator and a Black assistant were arrested as police conducted about six raids that night.
