James Edward Creighton also known as W H Geers and Jimmie Jones confessed to killing Coyne Hatten in Webb City after a bank robbery in Hastings Nebraska. Cockrell admitted prior prison terms for similar offenses.

Earl Quinn, accused of killing sisters Jessie and Zexia Griffith near Tonkawa last December, was brought to Kay County jail from Kansas City by train under secrecy. He denied the charges, waived extradition issues, and was remanded without bond with a preliminary hearing set for June 23.
Corsicana Texas May 20 The kidnapping and conspiracy cases against Charley Hassell Arrie W Caldwell Doyle and Jimmie Nash over the December abduction and ransom attempt of Robert Cerf Corsicana banker son were indefinitely postponed by District Judge Hawkins Scarborough on motion by County Attorney Cleo G Miller pending further Navarro County grand jury investigation.
Three young inmates fled Burnet County jail between midnight and dawn. Escapees are Casey King 30 J H Mason 25 and John Moore 25. King was serving a pistol fine while Mason and Moore faced burglary and felony theft charges. Local and Central Texas officers were alerted.
Rescue workers recover Brig. Gen. Robert H. Dunlap buried under rock and mud at Chateau La Farviere in Tours France. They also free Mrs. Dennis Briant from a cave hut rescued unharmed. she knew nothing of Dunlap or her husband who died in the same landslide. A voice was heard before noon guiding efforts.
John Factor known as Jake the Barber surrendered to federal authorities in Chicago seeking a bond hearing as England pursues extradition over about 5 million dollars in fraudulent stock dealings. His wife accompanied him as he sought release pending extradition, denying reports linking him to gang figures and kidnappers. Factor faced questions at the U.S. marshal’s office with British consul notified and a hearing set before Commissioner Edwin K. Walker.

Union plasterers in Amarillo voted to reduce the local wage scale from fourteen to twelve dollars a day after a Tuesday night meeting. The cut, announced Wednesday, was authorized by an almost unanimous vote of the Plasterers Union members.

J M Johnson admitted killing Carrie Bowers and her two young daughters aged two and five in Mattoon Illinois. He said he drove into the police station and confessed after previously setting fire to the dwelling. Neighbors report he previously lived with Mrs Bowers and her husband died recently.
New York May 20 Ralph Barton renowned illustrator committed suicide at his East Fifty Seventh Street home. A maid found him with a gunshot wound to the temple and a pistol in his hand. Barton 39 had suffered a prior heart attack but had appeared to recover. He was famous for caricatures in the New Yorker Vanity Fair Liberty and Harper's Bazaar and also illustrated many books.
City pound foreman William D. Fegett reports the pound looted Tuesday night with Towser the unlicensed dog missing. Three of four dogs have been recovered and police note the unusual burglary as a notable crime.
Charlotte Nash Nixon-Nirdlinger, once a St. Louis beauty queen, is acquitted of manslaughter in the March shooting of her Philadelphia theater magnate husband Fred G. Nixon-Nirdlinger at a villa in NICE France. She won a self defense plea after a brief dramatic trial. The jury deliberated ten minutes.
