Osage Nation Maintains Giant Pony Gift Tradition
Osage Nation near Hominy Oklahoma continues its annual pony smoke despite oil income drop from 13500 to about 4000 a year. Indians from other tribes visit, receive riding horses, and Osages still give away hundreds of ponies each season. Despite reduced revenue, headrights remain valuable and the oil wealth history is noted with figures on dividends and government credit.
