Soldier to be discharged at Fort Sam Houston next week
A local man, after a year overseas, arrives in Seattle on July 10 and will receive discharge at Fort Sam Houston next week. A Amarillo High School graduate, he clerked at the Post Office before enlistment 16 months ago and served in Japan. He and his wife and 9 year old son James live at 1300 Lincoln. he is the son of Thomas W. Austin of the same address.

Amarillo Students Practice Homemaking Skills in Summer Project
More than 300 Amarillo High and junior high girls completed six to nine hour daily homemaking tasks in June. They earned up to half a high school credit under state sponsorship and teacher supervision. Lara Webster planned a Mother's Day gift of paint buckets earned from weekend work.
