Paris July 12 Secretary of State James F Byrnes said Russia has demanded 10 billion dollars in reparations from Germany but has already received direct and indirect reparations totaling 14 billion.
Byrnes disputed Russia would receive 10 billion dollars in German reparations and argued that postwar asset transfers from Silesia and Konigsberg favored the Soviet Union. Molotov then demanded removal of 437,000 pro Nazis from western Austrian zones before any Austrian treaty.
